If you have an office clearance, decant or refurbishment project coming up, please consider the following options to try and re-house any unwanted furniture:
- Email around the Department to see if anyone else may have use for it.
- List it on Warpit, an online market place where you can offer unwanted resources for free within the University.
- Try charities such as Emmaus or the British Heart Foundation
- Try Reyooz (who are now listed as a supplier on EDRS), a company that will collect and re-purpose un-wanted office furniture, and redistribute it to organisations that don't have the funds to buy new, such as charities, community groups etc. There is a charge for collection, but you'll get a full report showing the financial, environmental and social impact of your donation.
- It is always worth contacting our regular furniture suppliers, some of whom offer buy-back services.
